The Pen of the Year 2024 is inspired by the „Turquerie“ period, that era between the 16th and 18th centuries in which the splendor, aesthetics, and exotic culture of the Ottoman Empire reached Europe. The exclusive "Turquerie" edition has been designed by a leading expert in Ottoman art, Serdar Gülgün. The 2024 Pen of the Year is limited to 315 fountain pens and 85 rollerball pens.

This exclusive, plunger-type fountain pen in a broad nib features a handmade 18-carat magnum bicolor gold nib that promises unique writing pleasure

The barrel, cap, and grip are decorated with a fine chevron pattern and enhanced with decorative lacquer inlays. The platinum-plated metal parts are adorned with 18 precious rubies and an engraved tortoise – a symbol of luck in the Ottoman Empire – adorns the domed end cap

Tassels and crescent moons on the cap once symbolized power. The inside of the Pen of the Year reveals the intricately decorated inner sleeve with the end piece of the cap featuring a stylized dome of an Ottoman tent

Each pen is individually numbered and delivered in a black, highly polished wooden box (including brochure and certificate of authenticity). Additional insert in the pen case offers space to house six additional writing instruments.
